The 2007 Advanced Graduate Workshop on Poverty, Development, and Globalization is led by Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz and was held this year at the University of Manchester, England from June 24 to July 14, 2007.
The Workshop brings together thirty Development Studies graduate students who are at an advanced stage of their dissertation work as well as leading scholars and practitioners in the field. Workshop sessions deal with a range of economic, political and social issues pertaining to development and poverty, including macroeconomic policy, growth, taxation, social security, and trade. This year, guest lecturers included Edmund Phelps, winner of 2006 Nobel Prize in economics.
