Welcome to IPD's Publications Guide! This guide helps you find exactly what you're looking for on the IPD website.
IPD is dedicated to bringing information on economic policymaking to a broader audience. Our publications make economic policy debates more accessible, and highlight both the theoretical and policy debates in each field. On our website, we feature three types of resources:
- Working papers focus on topics in greater detail. Individual working papers are written by one or two task force members on specific areas of interest. As with the Task Force Summaries, the purpose of our Working Papers is to examine the main issues from all viewpoints. These papers can be more academic in nature but are still written for a broader audience.
- Task Force Summaries are the main output of our Task Forces. They summarize the different viewpoints and trade offs inherent in different policy decisions, and present what we know and do not know on each issue in a non-partisan, policy-relevant manner. Our purpose is not to resolve issues or tell policymakers in developing countries what to do. Instead, we want to ensure that countries have a comprehensive catalogue of the theory and evidence that underlies each central issue. These summaries are geared toward policymakers and civil society members.
- The Journalism Primers section has backgrounders and case studies that serve as primers for journalists in developing countries. The goal is to enhance the ability of journalists in developing countries to cover the central economics issues facing their nations. Also attached to each backgrounder are links to newspaper articles, academic papers and other websites that provide more information on these subjects.
