Overview
Welcome to IPD's Policymaker Resource Guide. The Initiative for Policy Dialogue welcomes your interest. IPD works with policymakers at all levels and we are excited to share our resources with you. We have tried to make this website as useful and user-friendly as possible. This is a guide on how to use our website and how to find the materials and resources most relevant to your needs.

Our Task Force Overview Chapters have been put together specifically with the policymaker in mind. These volumes' aim is to enhance the quality of policy dialogue on a range of economics issues. Task Force Overview Chapters summarize the literature and present policy alternatives on each issue in a non-partisan manner. They explain why there is so much disagreement on many of the issues, why so many current policies have failed, and what the latest ideas and research on alternative solutions are. Because not everyone is familiar with academic jargon or concepts our Overview Chapters are written in language accessible to everyone. Additionally, Task Force Companion Chapters and Working Papers go into greater detail on specific areas of interest.

For those interested in specific countries IPD also organizes Country Dialogues. In cooperation with in-country partners, IPD convenes forums that bring together diverse stakeholders, including senior government officials, members of Parliament, NGO's, labor, academia, business communities, think tanks and the media. Browse our reports of past Country Dialogues for more information on our recent visits.

In addition, visit the News/Opinions page to consider IPD-related news items and IPD experts' opinions on the latest developments in global economics.

Resources List/Suggestions for Policymakers
Task Force Overview Chapters
The Task Force Overview Chapters are summaries our experts create for policymakers and other interested parties. They include an introduction to the issue, an examination of the debate surrounding it, and a summary of existing literature.
Task Force Companion Volumes
These supplement the Overview Chapters with more detailed volumes and currently cover Environmental and Sustainable Development Economics, Sovereign Debt, Trade, and Transparency. The chapters of these volumes can be viewed on our website as Working Papers. Please keep in mind that these papers have not yet been published and should not be cited without explicit permission from the author.
Country Dialogues
IPD organizes Country Dialogues, which are forums that bring together diverse stakeholders, including senior government officials, NGO's, academics, business communities, think tanks and the media. These are very often held in coordination with Journalism Training Workshops and offer a unique opportunity for journalist interaction. Browse our reports of past Country Dialogues for more information on our recent visits.
Task Forces
The Task Forces serve to provide the information needed to expand the discussion on economic policy in developing countries. Without pushing for any specific policy solution, the task forces present policymakers with a complete understanding of the economic situation and alternative policies needed to generate a competent policy.
News/Opinions
The News/Opinions page contains links to news that relates to the IPD, as well as recent opinion pieces written by members of the IPD network about developments in the world economy. The page is updated often, so check it regularly for new postings.
