Who we are...

The purpose of ABA (Asian Business Association) is to provide career, networking, social and mentoring resources for students at Columbia Business School who have an interest in Asian business issues and career opportunities in Asia and anywhere around the world.

How our members benefit...

The privileges of membership include: inclusion in the resume book which will be distributed to all key Asian recruiters; access to information disseminated via membership e-mail list serve; and events, receptions and functions, many of which may be designated for members only.

We organize social, networking and mentoring opportunities within the Greater Asian community at Columbia, which includes the other graduate schools on campus, with Alumni and with the Asian community in New York. ABA collaborates with organizations such as the Greater China Society, Japan Business Association, Korean Business Association, and South Asian Business Association at CBS to increase community cohesion.

One of our most well known events is our annual Hong Kong study trip where we meet banks, consulting firms, other potential Asian recruiters and our alumnus. This week long trip occurs in the Fall semester. The purpose of the trip is to provide career networking, social and mentoring resources for MBA students who have strong interests in exploring career opportunities in Asia.

Throughout the year we organize various professional development, career and lifestyle oriented panels and speakers targeted for individuals who have an interest in Asian business issues and career opportunities in Asia or anywhere in the world. We continuously look for opportunities to leverage Columbia’s vast resources via the Alumni networks, the Business school and SIPA to provide our members with specific knowledge of the Asian market and environment.
