After the morning keynote address by James Tisch, President & CEO of Loews Corporation,
the day will kick off with a panel in which James Chanos, John Gunn,
Bill Miller, and George Schultze, CBS '96 discuss their investment philosophies and share some
war stories about their best investment ideas.
Our luncheon keynote address will be given by Martin Whitman, the
Founder and Co-CIO of Third Avenue Management, LLC, on market efficiencies as related
to value investing, distressed investing, and control investing.
In the first afternoon session, William Ackman, Patrick McGurn,
Thomas A. Russo, and David Winters will tackle current corporate governance issues, specifically
the role shareholders can play to improve governance and ensure company
management maximizes shareholder value.
The final panel will focus on distressed investing. John Bader,
David Blechman, CBS '00, and Daniel Posner
will speak about their investment approaches, what has worked for them and what has not in this area.
Registration and breakfast will start at 8:00 am, and conference program will begin at 9:00 am.
In addition, a cocktail reception will be held following the conclusion of the conference at 4:30 pm.
