The Science Behind Energy Speaker Series

The SIPA Energy Association is supporting the launch of a new speaker series entitled "The Science Behind Energy" which offers students concentrating in Energy & the Environment the opportunity to gain a technical perspective on key aspects of the different sources of energy and the technical challenges they face. The first session will be led by Professor Dan Bienstock, of Columbia's Engineering School, on the topic of Grid Operation. The session will provide an introduction to grid operation with a focus on traditional generation, transmission, distribution as well as smart technologies being developed and implemented.
