The Latin American Business Association (LABA) Conference aims to bring together prominent leaders, students and members of the community to discuss business, economic and political trends in Latin America.
After twelve consecutive years of successful events, the LABA Conference has grown to become one of the most important conferences at CBS attracting students from different nationalities and backgrounds that share an interest in the region.
For the last few years the conference has included a finance panel with economist and bankers from Wall Street. This panel is well recognized among students as an objective, forward looking and critical view of the region.
Over the past year, the global markets have had dramatic changes as they are being lead out the crisis, and Latin America is not an exception. For this reason the theme for the 2010 conference was “Latin America in a Recovering Global Economy”. The aim was to provide a forum for participants to understand the changes that the financial and commercial markets have suffered given the macroeconomic changes and the challenges that these imply to our markets.
