The aim of the Latin American Business Association (LABA) is twofold: to promote friendship among Latin-American business students and students interested in Latin-American issues and to sponsor activities that introduce students to the possibilities of employment in Latin America.
 
The Latin American Student Association (LASA) is a group of graduate students interested in analyzing current economic, political and social issues in the region, promoting its culture and enhancing opportunities for future cooperation. Its members are students from all ethnicities and backgrounds who are at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) of Columbia University. The association is aimed at fostering constant interaction with academic, private and public organizations interested in Latin American and Latino affairs.

The 2006 Columbia Business School and Columbia School of International Affairs Latin America Conference will provide an insight in to the latest trends in the Latin American business scope. The title of this year's conference will be “Breaking Traditional Structures: Capital Markets and Microfinance in Latin America ”. The conference will address these topics from the academic, political and business perspectives .
