Gillian Ryan
For the two years before CBS, Gillian was an artist manager at JGM, working with such artists as Five For Fighting, Dan Wilson/Semisonic, and Mike Doughty/Soul Coughing. Prior to this, she worked at both a major label (Columbia) and independent label (TVT) for over three years in both marketing and product management roles. This summer Gillian was an intern in the “360” corporate strategy group at Warner Music, a department focused on expanding the record label’s role in the music industry. Gillian graduated from NYU majoring in marketing and music, and hasn’t left the music industry or residence in New York since.

Robert Schneider
Robert is a 2010 MBA candidate at Columbia Business School, concentrating in media management and marketing. Currently, he is interning with NBC Universal as an internal consultant for their sales / marketing organization. Prior to business school, Robert was a consultant for JSA Partners, Inc., where he specialized in private equity transactions. Before joining JSA, Robert served for six years as an airborne ranger with the 82nd Airborne Division attaining the rank of Captain. Graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in comparative politics and computer science, Robert also earned certificates in Documentary Filmmaking and Film/TV production from Duke and New York Universities respectively. He is deeply interested in media convergence, digital distribution, and content creation and is the student member president of both the Producer’s Guild of America and their New Media Council.

Charles Battle
Charles is originally from Atlanta but has somehow managed to eke out an existence in New York City for the last five years. Prior to CBS, the MMA, and various other acronyms, Charles worked for four years in the editorial department of Farrar, Straus and Giroux Book Publishers. Before that, he studied poetry and received a Masters in Creative Writing from Boston University. Having devoted multiple years studying the canon of modern American poetry, Charles figured business school was the next logical step. He spent the summer of 2009 working at the TouchTunes Corporation, a digital media and entertainment company. After graduation he is hoping to work in either media-based venture capital or consulting. Otherwise he will be on fries at the Key West Diner on Broadway and 95th.
