The Retail and Luxury Goods Club club brings educational and networking events to its members. Here is a highlight of the events from the past year:

Throughout the school year, Retail and Luxury Goods Club invites speakers to share their views on how current trends are affecting the retail and luxury goods industry, as well as career advice and entrepreneurship experience. To give club members a more experiential view of the industry, we often pair these speaker events with guided tours of showrooms and designing offices. In the latter part of 2009 and in 2010, we will be focusing on sustainable practices in retail, e-retailing, the effects of challenging economic times, the value of retail consulting services and more.

Past Private Company Presentations and Shopping nights:

A growing number of CBS students and alumni have significant experience in the retail and luxury goods industry. In addition, the number of students who are career switchers into Retail and Luxury Goods Club is also growing. Through informal gatherings, these groups have an opportunity to network and learn from each other.

Alumni and Student Mixers:

To fully exploit our New York network, the Events team plans to co-host events with Parsons and NYU Stern’s Retail and Luxury Club. Finally, we will continue to work alongside the Alumni Relationship Officers to offer our members up-to-date contacts and events in the industry. Please reach out to Margaret Livits at mlivits13@gsb.columbia.edu or Divya Viswanathan at dviswanathan13@gsb.columbia.edu should you be interested in speaking or hosting an event with us!
