Teaching and research interests
Professor Jorgensen’s research focuses on risk and its effect on compensation, disclosures and market valuation. His research examines how managers measure, manage and disclose risk. In addition, he has studied how managers respond to institutions and corporate governance. Jorgensen teaches the core course on managerial accounting. Prior to joining Columbia, he was a faculty member at Harvard Business School from 1998 to 2002.
