Professor Ron Schramm has been conducting research related to China since the early 1990s and is on the faculty of the International Business School of Suzhou as an Associate Professor. He is PhD Program Director and also the MSc Economics program Director. He is on XJTLU’s Research Steering Committee and is Finance Editor for the International Journal of Emerging Markets. He had been on the faculty of Columbia Business School for over 27 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Harvard University (with honors) and Master of Arts, Master of Philosophy and PhD in Economics from Columbia University.
He was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (where he taught the first course ever in corporate valuation — 2003) ; a Visiting Scholar at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2000); and a Visiting Scholar at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (1997). He is a Visiting Professor at Chinese-European International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai 2008-2015. In 2010, Professor Schramm taught the inaugural course in a new Kenyan EMBA program jointly sponsored by Columbia Business School, Goldman-Sachs and USIU. As an Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the early 1990s, Professor Schramm worked on debt workouts for heavily indebted countries and was instrumental in the reform of the foreign exchange system of Uganda. He has done consulting work for the World Bank. The course in corporate finance was offered in Nairobi, Kenya. He founded and led the China Business and Economy Group of the Harvard Club of New York City. Ron recently completed a textbook on China and the United States: The Chinese Macroeconomy and Financial System: A US Perspective Routledge/Taylor&Francis/ME Sharpe.
Professor Schramm has taught the widest range of courses of any faculty member at Columbia — having taught the PhD course in econometrics, forecasting, managerial economics, macroeconomics, international business, international financial management, international valuation and corporate finance. He was the first recipient of the prestigious Chazen Institute Award for case writing on an international topic. He has led Columbia’s MBA and EMBA course in China for over 13 years. In addition to his research related to China, Professor Schramm specializes in international financial management. As an Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the early 1990s, Professor Schramm worked on debt workouts for heavily indebted countries and was instrumental in the reform of the foreign exchange system of Uganda. He has done consulting work for the World Bank. He recently supervised the writing of over 40 business school cases at Kenyatta University in Kenya. He was Associate Director of Columbia’s Center for International Business Cycle Research where he wrote and edited numerous publications related to the international economic outlook. He is also CEO and founder of China Macro Finance in New York City.

While at Metalmark, Mr. Feller was involved in all aspects of the investment process, including transaction sourcing, evaluation, and execution across a variety of industries, including energy, healthcare, consumer, and industrials.
Prior to the formation of Metalmark, Mr. Feller was an executive at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners and The Blackstone Group’s Private Equity group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Feller was an Analyst in Salomon Smith Barney’s Mergers and Acquisitions group.

Mr. Weiss is an Advisor to Sanpower Group, consulting on that company’s cross-border investment activities, and an Executive Director of the Board and Business Development Head at one of Sanpower's investee companies, Cordlife Group Limited. He has executed Sanpower’s investments in Brookstone Holdings, Cordlife and its pending acquisition of Dendreon. Mr Weiss has over 18 years of experience in the finance and investment sectors in the United States and Asia, and has worked on numerous M&A transactions with many Chinese companies, including China Development Bank Capital, China Resources Gas, China Southern Grid, SinoTruk and others. Prior to his current positions, Mr. Weiss was a Partner and Managing Director at cross-border private equity firm, Sailing Capital, China’s largest RMB fund primarily investing overseas. He also served as Managing Director of Morgan Stanley’s China mergers advisory unit and had held investment banking positions at Credit Suisse Group and Citigroup, where he transacted over $20 billion in M&A and capital markets transactions.
Richard Zhao currently serves as SVP & General Manager of Strategic Investment, leading the investment team of the Medical Device Division at Fosun Pharma. He has about 20 years’ experience in M&A, Business Development and Sales & Marketing Management on both global and regional levels. Prior to joining Fosun Pharma, he held various executive positions at Bayer Healthcare and Philips Healthcare, driving international business growth and expansion. Richard has been one of early explorers in the 1990’s to introduce and help multinational companies enter and operate in China through Shanghai Free Trade Zone. In addition, he also has in-depth understanding of the value of startups and innovation with his personal entrepreneur experience of establishing Lifevant Inc.
Mr. Zhao holds an MBA degree from CEIBS and received executive education (CPD) from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Bruce C. N. Greenwald holds the Robert Heilbrunn Professorship of Finance and Asset Management at Columbia Business School and is the academic Director of the Heilbrunn Center for Graham & Dodd Investing. Described by the New York Times as "a guru to Wall Street's gurus," Greenwald is an authority on value investing with additional expertise in productivity and the economics of information.
Greenwald has been recognized for his outstanding teaching abilities. Daisy Cai, Managing Partner at Baidu Ventures, is currently leading Baidu Ventures’ technology investments globally. Prior to joining Baidu Ventures, Daisy was China Partner at TA Associates, a leading global growth private equity firm. She sat on TA’s investment committee and manages TA’s China portfolio.
Ms. Cai was with Goldman Sachs Investment Partners in Hong Kong where, she has been leading TMT and consumer investments in Greater China. She also worked with Deutsche Bank Principal Investments and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

Dan Burstein co-founded Millennium Technology Value Partners with Sam Schwerin in 2002. He has been actively involved in many of Millennium's most important investments including Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) and Alibaba (NYSE: BABA), and led the firm's investment in Twitter (NYSE: TWTR).
Before Millennium, Dan was Senior Advisor at The Blackstone Group, where he worked for 12 years in a variety of capacities. Over the course of his career, he has been a consultant to the CEOs and senior executives of major global corporations including Sony, Toyota, Microsoft, and Sun Microsystems.
During the last two decades, Dan has served on more than a dozen public and private company boards. He has also been a forum fellow at the World Economic Forum in Davos and has been honored many times for his books and journalistic work, including awards from the Overseas Press Club and Sigma Delta Chi. Dan has made personal venture capital investments since 1983, when he first worked as a consultant in Silicon Valley. He began making institutional venture capital investments in the second half of the 1990s. He articulated and led an investment thesis that focused on early stage companies building backbone infrastructure for the internet and enhancing the security, reliability, and user experience of the web. The small funds he led experienced extraordinary returns available in that time period for this investment thesis.
Ms. Yiting Liu is a Partner and the COO of Coalescence Partners, a U.S. based investment management company. Ms. Liu was previously a Founding Partner of HuiEn Capital and advised Chinese institutions and family offices looking to invest in the United States and/or to join ventures with U.S. institutions. Prior to HuiEn, Ms. Liu was a Co-Founder of Ray Shi Capital, an investment management company focused on small and mid-cap Chinese equities. Prior to Ray Shi Capital, Ms. Liu focused on the investment and management Vision Opportunity China Fund as the Vice President of Greater China. Ms. Liu had also worked at PepsiCo’s corporate strategy and development group, where she devised operational strategies and analyzed strategic acquisitions. Prior to PepsiCo, Ms. Liu worked at the Boston Consulting Group, a premier management consulting firm, where she developed solutions to key strategic and operational issues for world-class corporations.
Ms. Liu graduated from Harvard with honors in Applied Math with an Applied Field in Economics. She is a Board Member of the Asian Financial Society.
